As anyone can see, especially now, the obvious theme of the album cover is death, but what it says about death isn’t as obvious. My Chemical Romance gives off the impression that they are celebrating both life and death on this album. They pretend that they are the ones who are subordinate to this greater story. In reality, their album cover depicts a controversial message that forces people to consider their position in this other dimension where five men can call themselves gods and get away with it. No man handles the life lines of people, but somehow My Chemical Romance believes that they control their own. If that is the case, who else can they possibly control? Who else, besides ‘the performer’ has revered them so? By purchasing their album, does each fan become some sort of follower to a cult filled with idol worship?

Personally, I admire their ability to pull the blindfold over the eyes of their fans. Artistically speaking, I cannot rule out the possibilty that they are being ironic, tongue-in-cheek even. My Chemical Romance has been known to mock various trends, cultural movements, and government structures. This band of anarchists might just be mocking the entire idea of celebrity itself; how people tend to put celebrities up on a pedestal, make them godlike. Maybe they find the whole idea of this equation to be one big joke. Perhaps the other figures in the pictures are the real stars, overshadowed by a mere mockery. Despite the possibilities, I find them all hard to believe. This group Is well known for bold comments that would give anyone else trouble. It takes a bold bunch to equate themselves with immortal beings, and My Chemical Romance are just the band to make such claims.
