Welcome to the home page for Peter Albert Duarte. I am 22 years old and pursing my degree at the University of Florida in Music in Combination with Behavioral Neurobiology. I am a trumpet player seeking a performance degree but ultimately wish to practice clinical medicine. My interest in research has led me to the lab of Dr. Darragh P Devine. Our lab studies the Neurobiology of Stress and Stress-Induced Psychopathology along with the Neurobiology of Self-Injurious Behaviors. My current project involves the relationship between algesia or pain sensitivity and cortically processed Stress. I also belong to the trumpet of Studio or Dr. Joyce Davis. Along with private instruction and collaboration to better improve our musical skills and understanding of the Trumpet literature, there is emphasis on national and international organizations and conferences such as the National Trumpet Competition and The International Trumpet Guild. The University of Florida has an ideal program for musicians pursuing another field of study.
