Curling

Curling began in North America in the winter of 1769/60 when Scottish soldiers stationed in Quebec City during the seven year war transformed a french cannon into curling irons. Curling made it's olympic debut as a demonstation sport in the first winter olympic games in Chamonix, 1924. It wasn't until 1966 that the International Curling Federation was established following the sucess of the Scotch Cup beginning in 1959. The IFC became the World Curling Federation (WFC) in 1991. Curling became an official Olympic sport in 1998 at the games in Nagano, Japan.
