My Friends |
Or, for those of you who noticed Katie Holmes in the above collage, my hopeful future friends. Here's just a short description of different people who are important to me are. (Note: important is defined in this context as someone who I know well enough to borrow money from). I'll divide the sections up to keep things... Well, organized looking at least. |

John Biesnecker | amraam@ao.net | http://www.ao.net/~amraam/ |
John and I have been friends since well... longer than I can accurately remember. Some items of note about John: he's the programmer between the two of us, but we both share the exact same thought-process, opinions, and anything else cognitive. We're not only different halves of the same person, but we're destined to die together in an aging 1985 Toyowagon (the name of those strange mini-vans built by Toyota with no front end (incidentally the engine is under the driver's seat--how comforting is that?), at which point we will go to heaven and it will be found (miracuously) that we don't owe each other money, but have accrued exactly $3,135 of mutual debt to each other which has exactly cancelled out. |
Colin Wiens | colin@wiens.com | http://www.colin.wiens.com/ |
What can I say? The guy's family. But it's nice when you can have a little brother that is not only fun to hang around with, but you can consider a friend beyond being related. That picture is so old, it's painful (IE, he's since hit puberty... so add a few years, subtract baby fat) but it's here until I get something better. |
Greg Wiens | greg@wiens.com | http://www.greg.wiens.com/ |
My Dad and I have a great relationship -- we've always been able to talk about things, and that works both ways. He's a role-model, confidant, advisor, mentor, and best-friend. Not to get too sappy, or anything. ;-) Besides, I can always beat him at basketball, so I get to teach him a thing or two sometime... heh. Yeah, and I'm faster too. I can run marathons, I swear. (shaking head side to side) |
Mike Burns | mikeb333@aol.com | http://www.angelfire.com/mb/mikeb |
Mike is the only other cool 15 year old I know besides my brother. Except for his annoying propensity for hip-hop, he's a cool and crazy kat who knows how to jam for sure on a guitar. |

Eric Lin | anselor@iname.com | http://anselor.cx |
Eric lived in the same dorm as me last year, but we started hanging out a lot more this year since he hangs out here all the time (my dorm and another dorm across the hall are quite the hang out spot for lots of people. Ok, well, for a handful of people. Dang it, fine, for one or two people who are loosers as badly as us. ARE YOU HAPPY?! |

Christin Blystone - NC | christelina@hotmail.com |
Christin and I became friends a long time ago when my brother and her started up a casual conversation on the internet and she ended up sending him some snail mail with some photos. I was stunned! How had my little brother managed to start talking to a older, beautiful, great person? What are the odds of that on the internet, where "everyone's a dog", so so it's said. Anyway, once I got over my immoral lust of her appearance ;-), Christin and I began communicating and have kept in touch for a while now. I'm really looking forward to seeing her sometime this year. Oh yeah, did I mention she's kiff? |
Shawn Nicholls - NC | sbn@duke.edu |
Shawn was a part of more high school memories and pranks than either one of us would care to admit. Along with Chris and John, Shawn has been there through everything. He's also the only motivated one in the group (IE, look at his email and see where he's going to college), whereas the rest of us are just slackers. He also happens to be the biggest mp3 pimp in existence. |
Evan Keeler - MN | plateado@hotmail.com |
Evan and I were in the same d-group (discipleship group) on a mission trip we went on a few summers ago with Royal Servants. The trip itself was an absolute blast, without a doubt a life changing experience, as well as some of the most fun I've ever had in my life. After the trip, Evan came to Orlando help run my church's youth group, but unfortunately, I was up here at Gainesville, so I only got to see him over the summer. At the end of the summer we took a really cool road trip up to his hometown of Moorhead, MN. Hopefully I'll see him online more often and we can keep in touch. |
