We spent a three-day weekend in Paris walking around the city. It is only a three-hour train ride from Rotterdam, and we got to ride first class on the Thalys high speed train, which was extremely nice. In Paris we saw all the major sites: the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, the Pompidou Museum, the Moulin Rouge, Opera House, walked along the Seine (which was a gorgeous green), the Pantheon, Luxembourg palace and gardens, walked down the Champs-Élysées and saw all the extremely high-priced designer clothes, and walked up Monmarte and Sacré Coeur (we counted the steps - 221!).

The absolute best thing we did the whole weekend was go on a short hot air balloon ride. It stayed on a tether and went up about 150m. It left from a really pretty park so we got a great view of that and the whole city (and of course the Eiffel Tower). It was really windy though, so the ride was a little rough but I loved it.
