To personify an object to the extent that it becomes an entirely new, yet believeable entity. An entity whom possesses both a physical and a mental state that breathes, bleeds, and aches like any other living being. It grows and ages, loves and despises, sings and cries. An entity possessing so many differing memories that one can not help but feel humbled by its ancient knowledge-- humbled, yet disturbed... for it is just an object, isn't it? To create a physical representation of a mental environment. Happiness, peace, and warmth slowly transforming into nostalgia, regret, sorrow, fear, and lonliness-- the breakdown, the chaos, the angst that all lies within this humbled being. To allow the audience to identify and sympathize with the object. Let them feel its fears. Let them understand its past. And, by doing so, effectively convey a sense of mental unease-- unease tht play on our own fears of breaking, failing, and deteriorating. |
