I can't really pinpoint why I like Tampa so much other then its where I was born
and raised.
Its funny that before college I was ready to get out and move on, but
now I realise how used to it I was-- which turned into love I guess. I'm taking
Social Geography and its also interesting learning the format of a city and its
suburbs, then applying it to my hometown. I've realized no one really lives in
downtown Tampa, though new condos are trying to change that. Most people reside in
the inner and outter suburbs of that central area. Thats not to say downtown isn't
still used for entertainment-- the Performing Arts Center, St. Pete Times Forum as
well as nightlife makes its home in downtown Tampa. Ybor city, best known for
Cuban culture and cigars is now the club hub of the area. Furthermore, Gasparilla raids the
downtown area on a yearly basis.
