My Family History

Because my family is so important to me, I thought I'd start with their history first before the history of my community or where I live:

Though both sides of my family are originally from New York, their backgrounds are very diverse. Put together, they make me Italian, Russian, Polish and Hungarian. The first branches in America arrived via Ellis Island [above], as I found with their records there with my confirmation class. These findings were then incorporated into my confirmation project. Naturally, our Judiasm is important to me as well, though distant relatives were Cathlic Italian or a combo of both.

My mom was born in Miami, though her parents were from Brooklyn. My dad on the other hand grew up in Long Island before moving to Miami with his family. Though they went to high school together, they didn't formally meet until attending the University of Florida-- making me a double legacy. They then moved from Miami to Tampa, where we now reside.
