Step 9: The Eyes
The eyes you choose will ultimately help to mold the personality of your monster. Button eyes are great, but if you're looking for something more playful (or you're lazy), googly eyes, available at craft stores, work just fine. In the case of googly eyes, coins, poofs, etc., you'll need a hot glue gun.
To sew on buttons, tie a knot through two of the holes with thread. Then position the button just where you'd like it to appear on your monster. Keep sewing through the different holes on the button until it's firmly attached to the sock. Tie a knot off on the inside of the sock.
Note: This step might be a little tricky at first as you might need to keep one hand inside the sockmonster and one outside to guide the needle. Be patient!
