I got this bass as a Christmas present my junior year of high school. I knew I disliked the spotlight and figured that a background instrument would be better.

It wasn't simply fear of being the frontman. I was really into Faith No More, and Bill Gould's bass playing always intrigued me. A friend of mine's dad also played bass, and listening to him helped convince me to give it a shot.

I generally use D'Addario or Dean Markley Blue Steel strings. I've had excellent experience with the Blue Steel strings.
