INTRODUCTION
Our group chose the country of Eritrea because of it's dynamic history and complex hegemony. The events of Eritrea's past profoundly shaped its economic situation today. There are and were significant contributions from religious tension, military warfare within and without, and European colonialism all of which acted to destabilize the region. Really the passion of the Eritrean people to continue to fight for what was right in their eyes is awe inspiring, it is not often that you can see that kind of conviction in men. This continues right up to today with the 1998-2000 Ethiopian/Eritrean war which did extreme damage to the already weak economy of Eritrea. I speak for myself and my partners in saying that learning about the past of Eritrea was eye opening and humbling. Sometimes I wonder why stories must be made up out of the imagination when there are those out there like the history of Eritrea over the last century.
