Assignments:

            Option 1:

 

o        Two 5-7 page papers, each worth 20% of grade

o        One book analysis, 5-7 pages, worth 20% of grade

o        One final exam, 5-7 pages, worth 20% of grade

o        Class participation, worth 20% of grade

 

Option 2:

o        One 15-20 page paper on a topic of your choice (must get approval), 40% of grade

o        One book analysis, 5-7 pages, worth 20% of grade

o        One final exam, 5-7 pages, worth 20% of grade

o        Class participation, worth 20% of grade

 

Please note that in all cases assignments are due on the day due, at the start of class. They may be turned in before that, of course. A paper turned in after class starts on the day due will be lowered one half grade. A paper turned in the day after it is due will be lowered one full grade. A paper turned in two days late will be lowered two full grades, and so on.

 

Familiarize yourself with the University policies on plagiarism, links to this policy are available on my webpage (see the links directly below the link to this syllabus). Anyone caught plagiarizing will receive an F for the paper and will be subject to university sanctions.
