A NOTE ON SERVICE

Below is a list of local community service projects I have participated in. Though there is no neat place to fit local community building activities in traditional Research I annual faculty reports, these events are an essential part of my work at the university. In order to increase diversity in higher education for future generations, it is imperative to introduce young people and those marginalized by race, gender, or class to college while they are in elementary and secondary stages of education. Below are my attempts to bridge the gap by connecting social outliers with information that will increase their knowledge of educational opportunity and to increase the probability of a more diverse student population in the future.
