30 years ago, Shenzhen welcomed the first influx of female workers. They left the rural areas for Shenzhen with one goal in mind-better life. Unlike the intellectuals who had hight education, with poor education, migrant sister came here to work in processing factories. They did not get paid as much as intellectuals, but for them, wages were far mire better than ever. The jobs opportunities in a booming city and expectations about the quality of urban life motivated them to stay or settle down.

The desire to go out and to pursue better life stay for the same in migrant workers mind nowadays.
But things are chaging. They want more, and they are doing this.
It started at Foxconn in Shenzhen, a Taiwaness-own company that makes electrnoics for Apple, Hwelett-Packard,Sony, Dell and other. From January to November, 2010, 14 employees committed suicides. It caused a sensation in China.Then the Honda manufactoring worker's strike in Foshan,a city 180 miles away from Shenzhen, provoked the conscience of the society as a whole. It started to care about the migrant workers' working and living conditions. More strikes and protests took place around China, mainly demanding for better wages. Most of the employees got their voices heared and wages raised. What is next for them? We all have no idea. But one thing to be sure, they will keep pursuing for their happiness.
