I love music. I have played violin for almost five years during my elementary school days. Although I do not play it these years, music is still my favorite. Besides pure music, I love musical as well. If someone asks me "which course in your undergraduate life do you think influenced you most?" I would choose "The Appreciation of Foreign Musical and Pantomime" without any doubts. Cats, The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, I cannot figure out how many times I get inspired from these masterpieces. Dancing & Singing Dancing and Singing is really a good way to release one's burdern. I have taken courses like Dancing and Modern Dance at Zhejiang University. I was once a member of Ling-Yun Chorus at Zhejiang Univ. |
Movies I love watching movies. Some movies reflect the beauty of mankind; some inspire me a lot in many aspects; some movies improve my imagination and make me more creative; some movies serve to broaden my understanding and appreciation of the world. |
Drawing I begin to draw ever since I was ten years old. At first, I was just drawing some cartoon. In order to provide me a better drawing environment, my mother sent me to a professional school to learn drawing. I grasped skills of charcoal drawing and pencil sketch there. After that, I learnt traditional chinese painting under the instruction of one professor at Shanxi University. during my undergraduate study, I still have great interest in drawing. I choose the elective course "pen-and-ink drawing of landscape". |
Cooking I love cooking (mainly Chinese food, sometimes western cuisine like Steak and Pizza). From soups to main dishes, I love to try every interesting recipe that I know. A delicious and decent meal not only satisfies my stomach, but also makes me physically strong and active. See my homemade mooncake, a traditional Chinese bakery. |
Hiking Here in Zhejiang University, we hold a kind of hiking activity named "Yi Xing" every spring or autumn. "Yi Xing" has the similar meaning of "to walk resolutely". Our slogan comes from the words of ancient chinese: In English, it means :"An educated gentleman should be resolute and broad-minded, for he has assumed heavy responsibilities". I had my honor to take part in this hiking activity in spring 2007. The total distance was almost twenty miles and there were nearly five thousands students walking such a long way. During the hiking, we called for the spirit of friendship and the harmony between man and nature. |
Travelling Some places that I have been to: China U.S. |
