“At the end of the day, it’s a cultural fusion.”

Craig Robins, President, Dacra Development, Miami Beach

"The University Gallery provided ambitious programming and a spectacular space, enabling us to create a whole new installation of our work, which was challenging to ourselves and our audience."

Leslie Wayne, painter and Don Porcaro, sculptor, New York, New York

“The galleries present a wonderful opportunity for the North Central Florida community to be involved in the visual arts at the University of Florida; and to stay informed of current trends found most often in more cosmopolitan areas.”

Fran Maris, community leader

“These venues offer a central meeting ground for all of the disciplines within the School of Art and Art History to come together, creating a studio for art students to experience exhibition planning in a hands-on way, and to learn about art that is new and meaningful.”

Marcia Isaacson, Associate Dean, College of Fine Arts, and Director,
School of Art and Art History

I visualize and experience the University Gallery a an OASIS of refreshment for the stressed campus life, applying to students and faculty alike. Art allows us to acquire perspective and depth in our lives, and to connect with our inner spiritual sources. The Gallery transcends campus life.

Martha Kohen, Director and Professor, School of Architecture

The University Galleries are a major educational tool of both the School of Art and Art History (SA+AH) and the overall University of Florida community. The three venues’ missions are integrated with the curriculum of the school, presenting top quality exhibitions that reflect the excellent quality of the many components of the study of art within SA+AH.

Specializing in interdisciplinary content, the University Galleries offer myriad opportunities for significant interactions that translate knowledge from many fields into visual language. A dynamic dialogue is ongoing and the art exploration inherent in exhibition programming thrives on this diversity.

Membership in our galleries creates the most important link—that of the viewer to the object. Like the relationship between sponsor and artist, a gallery needs the support of a community that is engaged in its growth.

Join us to make this wonderful relationship a part of your own life. Membership in our circle provides much needed aesthetic and intellectual stimulation.
