Urban Architecture in America
In an urban environement, landscape architects have the burden of bringing nature into the hostile city environment.
Landscape architects are in charge of the design of office plazas, public squares and thoroughfares among other things,

The work of a landscape architect leads to the design of the natural aspects encorporated into the urban scene. This work can be
seen in office buildngs that have an open, airy feeling in their entrance with plants and waterfalls decorating it. Their work
can also be seen in the design of parks and other large scale nature environments.
Also, a landscape architect might be consulted when another architect wants to encorporate a sites natural features into their
buildings design. This type of work is less often seen in the urban environment because much of the construction their takes
place on already developed land.
