Sheridan Park Elementary is located on Sheridan Street and N 70th Terrace, west of State Road 7/441 and east of University Drive. Click to see map.
During morning arrival, students are allowed into the school building at 7:30 a.m. Please note that students will not be supervised prior to that time. They are to enter through their assigned door for their grade level. Classes start promptly at 8:00 a.m., so it is important that your child(ren) arrive to school on time every day.
Dismissal times are as follows:
1:55 p.m. - Bus Riders
1:55 p.m. - Car Riders (southwest pick-up area by the cafeteria)
2:00 p.m. - Walkers and Bikers (north and west area doors of the main building)
2:10 p.m. - After School Care
In the event of a rainy day dismissal, the following procedures will be in place:
Car Riders will wait inside their assigned hallways near the south area doors of the main building. They will be escorted and released once their vehicle arrives.
Walkers and Bikers will be released according to schedule. If there is heavy rain and lightning, students will be allowed to stay inside the building until these conditions subside. Parents can pick up their children at this time outside their assigned dismissal doors.
Please plan accordingly with your child(ren) on what your dismissal plans are. If there are any changes, please send a note to your child(ren)'s teacher(s) or call the school office. Early dismissals should be reserved for emergencies only. No students will be released between 1:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m.
It is important that all students arrive on time and attend school regularly. A student’s presence in class is required to maximize the attainment of instructional objectives. For students who demonstrate patterns of non-attendance, interventions may be recommended.
Students will be marked tardy after the 8:00 a.m. bell. Absences may be reported by telephone or written note. For additional policy specifics regarding attendance, tardiness, excused/unexcused absences, please review the Student Code of Conduct booklet.
Students and their parents must follow all rules and guidelines found in the Broward County Public Schools Student Code of Conduct booklet. Click to view (pdf).
