His handle name was Cap'n Crunch. He got his name from the Cap'n Crunch cereal. As a teenager he would try to have the pay phone return his coin and put his calls through. His contribution to the hacking world was, phreaking. He created Phreaking by using a toy whistle from the boxes of Cap'n Crunch cereal. What the whistle would do was simulate the 2600 hertz tone that would be used to authorize phone calls. Used in conjunction with a bluebox it allowed the user to make free phone calls.
