Thank you for taking part in the test! Please note:

1. This test is designed to study whether it takes longer time to input a 16-digit credit card number with a mouse than with a keyboard.

2. Please check if your browser supports JavaScript.

3. If you have time, please do the whole test twice (this should take less than 2 minutes).

4. Please tell me whether you used the NumPad on the keyboard (Standard keyboards have two groups of num keys. If you are interested, please try them both).

5. Please email your results or any question regarding the test to yanglei03@ufl.edu


Test 1: input a 16-digit credit card number using your mouse only.

Step 1: click the "Generate" button to see the number to be input. The timer will start at the same time.

Step 2: click the numeric buttons to input the number; click the "Reset" button in case you make mistakes (the timer will also reset); click the "Enter" button after you finish.

Step 3: if you entered the correct number, a pop-up box will appear and tell you how long you've spent. Please record the time.

Step 1: click on the box below "Your input", you will see the number to be input, and the timer will start at the same time.

Step 2: type the number you see into the box; you may use backspace key on your keyboard to correct mistakes; hit ENTER on your keyboard after you finish.

Step 3: if you entered the correct number, a pop-up box will appear and tell you how long you've spent. Please record the time.
