Replaced Key pad on Roland MC-909
Cost around $16
The rubber pads use to play and program the drum manchine needed to be replaced. They have some
type of black conductive material on the back that wears off
and eventually do not have enought conductivity to close the circuit when
pressed and activate specific section on the circuit
boards. My problem was that pads 1234 would not
work, without retriggering and having sometimes to push the pad really
hard. After I opened it up I tested putting the rubber pads back in there
backwards. There are two rubber pieces one for pads 1-8 and the other
for pads 9-16. Normally the pads would be like this 1234568, when I
reversed them, the rubber piece it looked like this 87654321. So would
use the rubber part of pad 8765 to trigger on the circuit board
contacts 1234. Then I saw how contact 1234 worked and that contacts 8765 did not work. This
leaded me to the conclusion that with part #03017690 –Rubber SW A – mine
should be operational again. I ordered the part from Roland US
at 323-890-3700. I took all the boards out to replace the pads that are on the bottom.
