Weekly Report 5 (6/09/05)

This week I interfaced and tested my LCD. The code that I used to initialize my LCD was written by Max Billingsley. I also interfaced four bump switches. I used a voltage divider with four different resistors so that I could get a unique value for each bump that is pressed. I then connected all of them to the same A/D pin located on Port F. On my robot, I will use one bump switch on the front, one on each side, and one in the back. These will act as back up in case my IRs don’t detect the obstacles. I also connected my DC motors to my board using a dual H-Bridge, and I wrote a PWM code to test them. The next thing I will do is test my IRs and get some values, and then put my platform together. I will also need to make a power board.
