Weekly Report 3 (5/26/05)

This week I tested my board with the “hello world” sample code provided by bdmicro.com. Fortunately, it worked well. I also ordered all the necessary parts for moving the robot. These include two DC gearhead motors, a dual H-Bridge motor driver, a pair of wheels, and mounting hubs. I was originally going to use a wireless microphone to voice control my robot but I found out that I would need a receiver, an amplifier, and a speaker. All these electronics would complicate my design and make my robot heavier, so instead I’ll be using a two way radio. These radios are small size and would fit well. I’m also beginning the platform design, and hopefully by next week I can get the parts cut out, and the mechanical components connected.
