Weekly Report 8
This week I ordered and received IR modules from Sparkfun. After talking with Thomas some more and researching online a little I realized just how hard it would have been to build my own. I made some mounting brackets from a piece of 90° aluminum I got at Lowe’s. These will be part of the front axle mounts. I also cut down the axles that came with my tracks. I could not do too much else this week since I am waiting for parts from the T-Tech.
I learned about bump sensor arrays and that will be the next item after the platform is assembled. I will use the voltage divider circuit Dr. Arroyo described in class so that I can run all of the switches on one A/D channel. Right now the plan is to have two switches on each side and three on the front and back. They will have some sort of lever actuator so that the entire perimeter of the platform is covered. If all goes well I will have the bump sensors and IR modules mounted and coded by the end of the week.
