the Universe

An elementary, largely nonmathematical
survey of our universe of stars, planets, and galaxies. Acquaints the student
with the development of astronomy as a human activity - with how we know
as well as what we know. Primarily for those not majoring in physical science
or mathematics.

cellular and organismal level. Modern concepts of physiology and genetics
are stressed. Emphasis is placed on the human body and the practical application

STA 2122 - Statistics for the
Social Sciences

Basic statistical concepts presented
in a conceptual fashion, emphasizing data collection and analysis rather
than theory. Topics include exploratory data analysis, design of surveys
and experiments, introduction to estimation and significance tests and
the use of statistics in the social sciences and the media.
