Philosophy:

I believe that counselors must be educational leaders and self-reflective practitioners.  They must serve as advocates for all students and they must understand and apply the principles of group work in building school and community partnerships.  They must accept responsibility for improving educational practices through continuing their own education and participating in professional development activities.

Personal Interests:

weddingsm.jpg (20792 bytes) I have a wide variety of interests and hobbies which help me to relax so that I can give my best to the students with whom I work.  My  favorite hobbies are those which take me outdoors.  I love to run long distances and have completed 10 full marathons.  I have also found white water rafting and rock climbing to be exciting outdoor activities.  When the weather is not as compromising, I enjoy painting, playing my flute, reading and writing in my journal. I have kept a journal since I was in the 4th grade and I find writing to be a wonderful therapeutic tool.
