1.  Purpose of the listservice:

The purpose of this listservice is to facilitate communication
and the exchange of academic information on the topic of
paleolimnology.  The Paleolimnology Forum serves as a
communications medium for the newly forming
InternationalPaleolimnology Association.

2.  Topics permitted on the listservice:

The Paleolimnology Forum is a moderated listservice.
Advertisements from commercial businesses and postings
that are not related to paleolimnology will not be approved for
the listservice.  Subscribers can feel confident that they will
receive only mail that is pertinent to paleolimnology.

3.  Submitting messages to the listservice:

If you would like to submit a message to the listservice,
send your e-mail message to:

paleolim@lists.ufl.edu

When you submit a message to the listservice, your message
will go to all subscribers.

4.  Replying to messages on the listservice:

When a person uses their normal e-mail 'reply' function to respond to a
posting on the listservice, their reply goes only to the original sender.
This helps to keep the volume of e-mail messages on the listservice more
manageable.

If you think your reply is of interest to all subscribers, you can direct
your reply instead to paleolim@lists.ufl.edu so all subscribers will
receive your message.

5.  How to subscribe to the listservice:

From the account that you would like to subscribe to the
listservice, substitute your first name and last name in the
following message and e-mail this message:

        subscribe paleolim firstname lastname

to this address:

        listserv@lists.ufl.edu

6.  How to unsubscribe from the listservice:

From the account you wish to unsubscribe, e-mail the
following message:

         unsubscribe paleolim

to this address:

        listserv@lists.ufl.edu

7.  How to change the e-mail address of your subscription

If your e-mail account changes and you would like update your e-mail
subscription to the listservice, you can log on to your old account and
unsubscribe from the listservice, then log on to your new account and
subscribe.  If you can no longer access your old e-mail account, please
contact the listservice moderator for assistance at:

8.  Including your name and e-mail address in
    a directory of paleolimnologists:

Bill Last, Co-Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Paleolimnology,
maintains a directory of paleolimnologists and their e-mail addresses
on the JOPL web page that is supported by the University of Manitoba.
