Assignments Discussion: Please read the assigned materials before the class meets. We will designate a weekly online 'meeting time' during the first week of class. For now it is provisionally 8-10 PM on Wednesdays until and unless you are notified otherwise. The week before each class, I will post the discussion topic for the following week. (Starting with the first official meeting time, I will post the topic at the end of the discussion, and then on both this webpage in 'announcement' and on your WebCT page.) The weekly discussions will take place on the WebCT discussion board; participation is mandatory and graded.
A full schedule of assignments is provided. However, it is quite likely that some of these assignments may be modified. All changes will be posted in the web site's 'announcements' section and appear also on your WebCT course home page. You are responsible for making sure that you have the correct assignment each week, and that it has been thoroughly prepared before the discussion board session meets. It will be a good idea, to help you prepare for each class and to review for the exams, to make a vocabulary notebook. Since many of the supplementary readings of this course will be from works on eReserve you must take special care to make sure that you can access these prior to the class meeting, and with sufficient lead time so that you can do the assignment properly.
