It provides information about membership, annual conference, research and
conference requirements, as well as links to other important sites.
If you are interested in Play Therapy Books, this site has a wonderful
bookstore where you will have find many resources. In addition, for
those who want to get trained, there is information about Play Therapy
Trainers.
The mission of the American
Music Therapy Association is "to advance public awareness of the benefits
of music therapy and increase access to quality music therapy services
in a rapidly changing world." (AMTA, 2002). In this website, you
can learn about what Music Therapy is, what do you need to be trained and
the benefits of being a member, like a Journal Publication and an Annual
Conference. A list of Schools that provide training is provided for
those interested. If you don't know what Music Therapy is, this is
a great resource.
Art
Therapy is "the therapeutic use of art making, within a professional relationship
... To increase awareness of self and others, cope with symptoms, stress
and traumatic experiences..." (AATA, 2002). In this website you can
find a complete definition of Art Therapy. The association was established
in 1969 and it has created Standards of Practice, education and ethics.
