Introduction

The purpose of this project is to create an Environmental Scrapbook composed of current event articles on the current state of our environment and how it is changing. Be sure to include articles on how humans are affecting the environment as well as efforts they are making to improve it. With each article, include a brief summary of issues being discussed as well as a reaction to its content. Be as creative as possible!

Task

To learn about and react on issues concerning our Earth's environment and how we are affecting it.

Resources

	U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ...35 years of protecting human health and the environment. Use this website to learn about different issues concerning the environment and to locate stories relating to these issues.
	The Environment Directory ...Earth's biggest environmental search engine. Use this website to search keywords and specific areas of interest in envrironmental issues.

 

Process

1. Visit various websites and search in newspapers and periodicals to learn about current environmental issues.
2. Gather at least 25 articles from these resources. Be sure to include these articles in your scrapbook
3. Summarize and react to each article. Include these documents in your scrapbook as well.
4. Combine all of articles and summaries in a creative manner to form your Environmental Scrapbook.

Evaluation

Conclusion and Rubric

At the conclusion of this project, you will have explored several sources and found information concerning the current state of our Earth's environment. You will have compiled a collection of current events on environmental issues and reacted to each article and the issue presented. When finished you will have a scrapbook of this information and will be able to share it to educate others about the environment.
