Dogs
I currently own (or am owned by!) a female yellow Laborador Retriever named Annie and a female mixed breed named Bella. We brought Annie home when she was seven weeks old and she has been absolutely the joy of our lives. You can check out some pictures of her here. While she is in Pennsylvania, she enjoys long walks through the woods, playing with her Doggie Aunts Jenny, Vivi and Sadie and annoying her Doggie Aunt Maggie, who pretends she doesn't exist. Down here in Florida, she loves going to the park and she also loves the beach! Bella was a stray found by one of Jared's co-workers that we adopted in August 2005. She is much shyer than Annie, but is very sweet. While she doesn't like the water, she does love to chase balls and eat things (socks, towels, sticks, etc!)
Skiing
Jared taught me to downhill ski in 2002. In March of 2003 and 2004, Jared and I went skiing in Vermont, visiting Killington, Mad River Glen, and seveal other resorts. I ski on Rossi Saphir skis with Rossi bindings and Salomon boots. Now that we live in Florida, we don't ski nearly as often, however, anytime we are in Pennsylvania over the winter, we make it a point to get out on the slopes. Jared is counting the days until we move back north and can ski on a regular basis!
Gardening
Since moving to Florida and buying our house, I have developed a fascination for gardening, which might be better described as me playing in the dirt. I have been digging and planting and digging and replanting since we moved into the house in the summer of 2005. Playing in the dirt gets me outside and keeps me grounded (hehe, no pun intended) while relieving the stress that comes with being a graduate student!
