Some "Copyright Rules" to Live By
- What you do (or your students do) in the classroom is probably allowable under "fair use." But, even then there are certain restrictions and ethical issues involved. Because it's done in the name of "education" does not mean it's legal under copyright law.
- If you think someone owns the copyright on an image, someone probably does.
- Because a work is in the public domain, doesn't mean the image you intend to scan is.
- Seek permission from the copyright holder for any work you intend to put on public display.
