merchant accounts
This summer I have had a lot of free time on my hands. To cope with the boredom and constant search for something new and exciting to do with my time I have been trying my best to take some kind of deeper interest from my work. I know this may not seem easy for a delivery driver at a local pizza shop, but it can be as interesting as you make it, I have found. To get by when there is absolutely no business I have been trying to see how the inside of the dough mixer works and how we do the ordering and inventory process. My newest activity has centered around something that came new to the shop about two weeks ago.
Typically at night the front counter is illuminated by the lights overhead inside of the shop. Last week though we got another source of light for the customers and ourselves. Our manager accepted an offer to allow someone to put one of the new mobile credit card machines in the shop. It has this huge light on top that doesn't remind you of other credit card terminals, but more of a bar or Las Vegas as a whole. I have taken it upon myself to learn a lot more about this machine, not so much in its actual function, which would take a little tampering, but more in the financial sense. I have been researching credit card processing and how these machines tie in to larger networks. I also found it very interesting to learn how large the number of merchant accounts this company had with their machines shining in their front windows.
As you can tell I have been just a bit bored. The summer is like this every year I am told, but I am trying to make the best of it and learn a little bit where I can. That is why I came to this town and I think that I am paying enough money for tuition that I should be putting forth the effort to learn everything I can while I am here so I can take it with me in the future.
