acne

One of the biggest problems for me right now during the summer comes not from having nothing to do, which seems to be the problem all of my friends are running in to, but it's the side effects of my job. I work in a local pizza shop as a delivery driver. During the school year it is one of the most lucrative jobs in the area for those without any kind of experience or even formal training. It is the kind of job that, due to the general attitude of customers at three in the morning, doesn't bode well for long time employment. Though the pay is great, the conditions of the job can be a bit difficult at the better times.

The busiest times of the year for us are on football weekends when people are just flooding through town and everyone is drunk and hungry. In this state people buy pizza by the truck load and I reap all of the benefits of the temporary loss of all simple mathematics skills. This is also the time of year when the weather is getting colder and so I spend my whole night flying in from the cold in the hot kitchen and back. Needless to say I get sick every weekend when I work and then spend the whole rest of the week recovering my sleep schedule and my general health condition. Then when the snow starts to fall I have to deal with putting my car in danger just to make two dollars on a pizza. It does seem a bit crazy to those outside of the life, but I live pretty well because of the sacrifices.

Right now though, with the heat at an almost unbearable level and the customers at a minimum, I spend most of my time sitting inside sweating like a dog. This has lead to a daily outbreak of acne. Pizza shop acne, I have found, is the worst kind of acne because it is an environment filled with oils and dust which just fill you pores with everything you don't want in there. For now I will have to live with sacrificing my skin condition to pay the bills and live comfortably outside of the shop.
