Weekly Report 7

This week I worked mostly on finalizing my putting mechanism and platform design.  After some experimentation, I decided to use a motor-driven putting arm which will be able to putt the ball over 60 inches.  I tried using an actual putter head, but it turned out to be too heavy for the motor to hold up when not swinging.  A higher torque motor would be too large to fit or too slow to putt the ball very far.  I’ll just use an aluminum L-bar to simulate a putter head instead.  I decided on my platform design with this in mind and plan to have it cut out in the T-tech today.  I also ordered some 7.2V, 3000 mAh NiMH battery packs and a charger.
