Port-of-Spain

Chaconias are the national flower of this beautiful island nation. The can be found on the sides of the roads on the way to beaches such as Maracas Bay and Cuevas

.In the early Spring, Trinidad throws the largest Carnival in the world. During Carnival large groups called "mass camps" get together to form steel drum bands, calypso music bands, and costume groups.

The steel drum was created in the island of Trinidad and Tobago. It is the foundation of Calypso and Soca music.

Getting Around Trinidad

	Landing into Port-of-Spain airport will place you in northwestern Trinidad. Port-of-Spain is the capital city of Trinidad. It contains historic monuments such as the Eternal Flame. Port of Spain is the center of commerce and it is busy with all the hustle and bustle of the island. Notable places to visit are the southern city of San Fernando, Maraval, and Chauguanas.
	Asa Wright Observatory: Some of the most beautiful and exotic animals can be seen in this wonderful tropical refuge. It is located high in the hills of the island.
