On The Road Again...
Ten years ago, I worked in a child care center in a Methodist Church. There, I met an American family. They were very nice to me. They had 2 children- one daughter and one son. Their daughter was married and had two sons, so they had two grandsons but didn't have a granddaughter. Over a period of a year, I become a part of their family and they adopted me as a granddaughter. They were very loving and caring to me, like my real grandparents. They helped me learn English and helped me to adapt to the new customs and culture. They were some of the best grandparents in the world.
Last year, I had a three week vacation in Pennsylvania with my grandparents. They wanted me to visit their hometown and their relatives. I stayed with my uncle Leo-my grandma's brother, and his family in a small town, Sykeville. This was my first time that I lived in the country when I came here, the United State. It was almost the same feeling as when I visited the countryside in my country, Vietnam. I felt very peaceful and relaxed. I really enjoy living with nature. In the first week, my grandparents took me to visit a lot of places around their hometown, such as the first United Methodist church, the oldest church in town. We went to the hills and valleys (1 | 2 | 3 | 4), the places that they would often play when they were young. Then, we went to picnic at the Clear Creek State Park and visit some other famous places- Bilger's Rocks, Cook Forrest and Deer Farm. Bilger's Rocks is a place that has a lot of natural rock formations. Also, Cook Forrest is an old forrest with a huge Fire Tower we could climb to see the whole forrest. Deer Farm is a place where they care for baby deer until they're old enough to leave.
