I
grew up in a little district called Islington, which is in St. Mary, Jamaica.
I attended Wolmer's High School for Girls from 1992 - 99, and after graduating
I moved to United States to attend college. I spent two years at Broward
Community college (which is in south Florida) where I earned an Associate
of Arts degree in journalism. From there I transferred to the University
of Florida.
My major is Online Media, with an outside concentration in International Relations. I'm currently a senior at the University of Florida. I am also working in new media at the Independent Florida Alligator where I update the news section of its Web site at alligator.org. Although I am interested in being a reporter, my true passion is developing
news content for the internet. I have taken classes in web design and
web writing during the past three semesters as a part of my Online Media
concentration in the College of Journalism. The dynamic nature of this
relatively new medium of news delivery has captured my imagination and
I feel it will provide me the avenues I crave to explore my creativity.
