Professional Profile
Interdisciplinary ecologist with expertise in human dimensions of agroecology, rural livelihood systems, adaptation to climate variability; food security; assessment research and application of participatory methods to learning for sustainability. Agroecosystems ecology including pasture, silvopastoral, and livestock systems. Development and evaluation of climate forecast tools to inform decision making for risk reduction in agriculture and natural resource management. Working with stakeholders and decision makers at several scales to elicit feedback into research and development of climate information systems.
Experience in resource-limited rural livelihood systems with emphasis on food security, vulnerability and resilience in farm livelihood systems in a framework of risk management through adaptation.
