Complementary colors are those that are opposite each other on the
color
wheel. You might use
shades or
tints from
one complementary set in combination. In the six pairs seen here, some shades
and tints are shown. The top and bottom of the six pairs are equivalent to all
12 hues in the color wheel. The top three are the primary colors, which are paired
with the secondary colors. All the tertiary colors are in the lower row of pairs.
