Art
As the Art Expert, you are in touch with the many elements of visual style and passion as they relate to culture and historical events. You will build your knowledge concerning Spanish Civil War art through research of the following materials. Other resources may be used as well, from the library, etc. They do not all have to be Internet sources; however, you must have at least six sources total. You may choose at least three of these artists, or one of your own finding (to be approved first), and research how each was influenced by the Spanish Civil War, or how the artist relates to the novel (specifically Gaudi, whose architecture is highlighted in The Shadow of the Wind). Feel free to incorporate your opinion on which artists/paintings you connect with most. Why do you feel that connection? Can you sense the artist's emotion? Once your research is completed, you must use your creativity to design a display for the classroom detailing your research; for example, a photo-mosaic with art prints and associated summaries/descriptions, an illustrated mobile, or a slide show with visual aids. Use your imagination, and if you get stuck for ideas or materials, please contact me!
