Project Description:
The need for this motor driver arose from the desire to resurrect "Mr. Tool." Mr. Tool's second incarnation is going to utilize gearhead motors as opposed to a dual clutch setup.
With a motor stall current of 1.7A, the National Semiconductor LM18200 3A continuous (6A Max) h-bridge motor driver was a natural choice.
RE:Vision 1
Version 1 includes large supply stabilization caps, a Tamiya style batter connector, full PWM control and brake circuit access. Power traces are 125 mil.
RE:Vision 2
Version 2 deletes one of the unnecessary supply caps and decreases the overall footprint of the board. Where Version 1 was 4"x2", Version 2 is 2.25"x2.25". Also locking headers were used as main connectors.
