Pre
and Post Conquest Indian History
|
Lesson: The topic
is Pre and Post Conquest Indian History in the Americas. This is
meant to be taught in a 7-12 Social Studies classroom. The purpose
is to reveal minor details and facts of the conquest, but
also it could be utilized for
the
students
to understand the significance of the conquest and the cultural and
material exchange that would ensue and its impact on both the sides
of the Atlantic Ocean if taken further. |
Ways to use the guide and material referenced on Page 2:
- For learners who respond more to the written word and academic language they will respond very well to the laid out assignment since it is rich in text.
- Students who are visually oriented may have difficulty with this assignment since its only visual aids are the timeslines in a list form. However, this can be substituted by assigning students to produce an image catalog for the significant persons and places they are researching.
- Students who are kinesthetically oriented will have the most difficulty in learning this due to its lack of motion, however, this may be substituted by finding a suitable video to play in class.
