Signs

•Black and blue spots or marks on the skin, especially the legs

•Spongy gums or other gum disease

•Bleeding from mucous membranes

•Poor healing of wounds and bruises

•Hair Thinning or baldness

•Anemia

•Pallor

•Partial Immobility

 

Scurvy is characterized by swollen and bleeding gums that cause tooth loss, soreness and stiffness of joints and lower extremities, bleeding under the skin and in deep tissues, slow wound healing, and anemia.
