Database Examples:

Example 1: A commercial example

IMDB.com, or the Internet Movie Database, is invaluable for use as a secondary fact-checker, settling arguments about movies, and for finding more about the work of favorite or obscure performers. It offers an extensive array of ways to search through actors, actresses, directors, producers and others who work on movies and television shows. you can search to see if two actors have ever worked together, for example. I first found this site years ago when it was used as the database to power the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game, which is explained and is playable here.

Example 2: A news or information example

NPR, or National Public Radio offers daily news and entertainment programming with a decidedly liberal bent. Its site's audio archives has an easy-to-use searchable archive. The simple keyword(s) search is augmented by options to narrow the results by selecting the date and or the name of the program which aired.
