III. Drag Coefficient in Different Flow Regimes

Here, the CD in different flow regimes is summarized in the chart below.

1. Newton's Law: mainly applicable to the turbulent regime (Rep > 1000), where viscous forces are negligible compared to inertial forces.

2. Stokes's Law: valid in the laminar flow regime (Rep < 1), where inertial forces are negligible compared to viscous forces.

3. Transition region: between the laminar and turbulent flow regime.
