Development of the Experimental Cell

Dual leg extension and curl machine.

Hallow shaft, incremental encoder with dual AB quadrature output and an index. The encoder is configured with 5000 counts per revolution, equating to 0.072 degrees of resolution.

 

Development of the experimental cell began with a commercially available Leg Extension and Curl machine. This machine allows for single, or independent dual leg movement. It was chosen for the ease with which hallow shaft optical encoders can be added.

Encoders Added to Experimental Cell

Encoders added to leg extension and curl machine required minor modifications to enable single or dual independent leg excitation.
