[ 2005 Writing on the Wall Project Director Application ]

The Writing on the Wall Project

The Writing on the Wall Project is both a community experience and a personal act to confront oppression and inhumanity. Through the act of constructing a wall representing the oppression of others - and bringing down this structure - participants experience the power to create positive change for the future.

Yes - you read that correctly, we will actually build a 40 by 9 foot cinder block wall in the middle of campus. The community then comes together to collectively pull down the wall, symbolically removing the barriers that separated us. The Wall will be built during People Awareness Week, which is January 26th - 30th. Join us in our second year of continuing the tradition of the Writing on the Wall Project here at the University of Florida.
