Polynesian Mythology Bibliography

ABOUT THE POLYNESIAN MYTHOLOGY BIBLIOGRAPHY

This is my bibliography for a thesis chapter up to 24/4/95.  The
thesis is a work in progress entitled "Polynesian language and culture
history".  Most titles can be seen in the bibliographies of Handy's
(1927) "Polynesian Religion", Williamsons (1933) "Religious and Cosmic
Beliefs of Central Polynesia" or Craig's (1989) "Dictionary of
Polynesian Mythology".  Not all the titles seen in those three works
are included.  Those included are mainly those which I have in hand or
those for which I have some hope of locating a copy in a reasonable
period of time.  Keywording is idiosyncratic and many entries are not
keyworded at all.  None of the titles are abstracted.

This is a Refer export format file.  It can be imported by Endnote,
ProCite and many other common desktop bibliographic softwares.

Copyright is by myself and this file is free to all users.  I do not
anticipate any update of this file in the near future and users are
refered to Handy (1927), Williamson (1933) and Craig (1989) for
further titles on this topic.

contained articles which were often continued and drifted in and out
of other contributions quoted here and cited according to other
authors or translaters.  It is convenient to cite these Smith
contributions simply by year and page as over fifteen separate works,
all with the same main title but often with individual subtitles, are
involved.
