The Chicago Bears are one of the original franchises from 1920 that helped start the NFL. The Bears have a rich history of great players, but not much of a uniform history.

For the past 50 plus years the Bears uniforms have been consistent.

Team founder, George Halas, chooses navy and orange for the teams colors because his alma mater, the University of Illinois, wore the same colors. The Bears' jerseys went though a series of different looks during the first few decades (shown below). It wasn't until the 1950's that Chicago started wearing the uniforms that NFL fans know today.

The C on the helmet is about the only thing that has made any change over the years. In the early years of the C it was all white, but for the past 30 plus years the famous “C” has been orange with a thin white outline. In recent seasons the Bears have begun to wear an orange alternate jersey.
